Caving

An underground world

The cave of Pierre-Lys, the caves of Saint-Georges, Muraille du Diable or Nentilla: all these caves, and more, display features - such as astonishing concretionary evolutions - which can be seen from ground level thanks to sinkholes.

The "massif des Fanges" and the "Gorges de l’Aude" are among the most interesting underground networks in the Pyrenean foothills, with more than 350 cavities and sinkholes in the Fanges forest alone.

Grotte de l'Aguzou (Cave of Aguzou)

The custodian will take you on a subterranean walk where you will see a network of exceptional fossils: stalactites, stalagmites, draperies, prismatic helictites, calcite and aragonite crystals. This underground adventure is accessible to all and is ideal for an introduction to caving in a semi-equipped cave.
